Children and Family Ministries

Many opportunities abound at Immanuel for people to gather together, be empowered by the promises of God and to be sent out into the world as disciples of the living Christ. See below how people can grow in their walk of faith.

Children and Adult Sunday School

Our Sunday School kicks off a new year on Sunday, September 9th, 2018 at 9 a.m.  We’ll have an all-ages activity on September 9th and then the following Sundays we’ll have age-appropriate activities for children.  Our adult class will be studying the book of Ecclesiastes from the Old Testament – learning more about how our personal lives have a purpose because God created us “on purpose”.

Confirmation – Wednesday evenings, 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Immanuel

Our Confirmation program is not what you or your parents grew up with – it’s a lot more fun and engaging.  Using the Faith Inkubators model, Pastor Scott takes seventh and eighth graders on a walk through the Bible during this 2018-19 school year.  We not only have class time at the church but there are field trips and other service activities we engage in to put our faith into practice.

Vacation Bible School

Each summer, the Ceresco community churches come together to put on Vacation Bible School for the children and youth (Pre-Kindergarten thru junior high) of Ceresco and the surrounding community. This is a wonderful event hosted by Immanuel Lutheran Church, the United Methodist Church of Ceresco and the Evangelical Covenant Church of Ceresco.

Camp at Carol Joy Holling

We strongly believe in the importance of camping ministry at Immanuel. Camp Carol Joy Holling is our camp of choice. It is located in Ashland – a 30 minute drive from the church’s front door. The camp’s website is Check out their website for more information.

Women’s Bible Study

A new women’s Bible Study will be starting this Fall with Immanuel’s members and friends.

Youth Alive!

Youth Alive! is for all youth ages 7-12 grades and their friends.  A Halloween hayrack ride is planned for October 2018 as well as a three-day youth retreat for 11th & 12th graders in Sioux City in March 2019.  More activities will be happening over the 2018-19 school year.  Stay tuned!
