Congregational Life

Children and Family Ministries

Many opportunities abound at Immanuel for people to gather together, be empowered by the promises of God and to be sent out into the world as disciples of the living Christ. See below how people can grow in their walk of faith.

“Cross+Gen” Sunday School

We offer a unique Sunday School for infants through 90+ year-olds all together.  Using an audio-visual curriculum that has been created in 2017, we bring all ages together to learn the Gospel story of Jesus’ life and apply His life to ours. In Cross+Gen Sunday School, children learn the story of Jesus’ life through Bible Study, singing, sign language of our key Bible verse, snack time and “Faith 5” (a time for praying for and blessing each other).   During November, we are studying the life of Jesus as he gathers his disciples and begins his ministry.  Toward the end of November, we’ll begin working on our annual Christmas program and remembering the story of Jesus’ birth.

Our Cross+Gen Sunday School has other things planned like a pajama party, pizza party plus a celebration of God’s love as we close out our year in May 2018.

Confirmation – Wednesday evenings, 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Immanuel

Our Confirmation program is not what you or your parents grew up with – it’s a lot more fun and engaging.  Using the Faith Inkubators model, Pastor Scott takes seventh and eighth graders on a walk through the Ten Commandments, Apostles Creed, and Lords Prayer during this 2017-18 school year.  We not only have class time at the church but there are field trips and other service activities we engage in to put our faith into practice.

Vacation Bible School

Each summer, the Ceresco community churches come together to put on Vacation Bible School for the children and youth (Pre-Kindergarten thru junior high) of Ceresco and the surrounding community. This is a wonderful event hosted by Immanuel Lutheran Church, the United Methodist Church of Ceresco and the Evangelical Covenant Church of Ceresco.

Camp at Carol Joy Holling

We strongly believe in the importance of camping ministry at Immanuel. Camp Carol Joy Holling is our camp of choice. It is located in Ashland – a 30 minute drive from the church’s front door. The camp’s website is www.nlom.org. Check out their website for more information.

Adult Discovery Class – to be offered in the near future

The Adult Discovery Class will be offered in conjunction with our Cross+Gen Sunday School class in the near future.

Youth Alive!

Youth Alive! is for all youth ages 7-12 grades and their friends.  We are planning a hayrack ride for late October – early November 2017.  The details will be available very soon.
