Children and Family Ministries

There are many opportunities at Immanuel for people to gather together, be empowered by the promises of God and to be sent out into the world as disciples of the living Christ. See below how people can grow in their walk of faith.

Children and Adult Sunday School

Immanuel offers Sunday School for all ages on Sunday mornings at 9 a.m.   We offer age-appropriate activities for children.

Our adult class is studying the Book of Romans until May 2020 as we learn about God’s grace and desire for our life.

Confirmation offered Wednesday evenings – begins in Fall 2020

Our Confirmation program is not what you or your parents grew up with – it’s a lot more fun and engaging.  Using the Faith Inkubators model, Pastor Scott meets with 7th and 8th graders for supper and then takes them on a journey through the Bible during the 2020-21 school year.

Vacation Bible School

Each summer, the Ceresco community churches come together to put on Vacation Bible School for the children and youth (Pre-Kindergarten thru 6th grade) of Ceresco and the surrounding community.  Our planned dates for the 2020 Vacation Bible School are July 20-23, 2020.  This year’s activities will all be held at Immanuel and there is no cost to attend.

Camp at Carol Joy Holling

We strongly believe in the importance of camping ministry at Immanuel. Camp Carol Joy Holling is our camp of choice. It is located in Ashland – a 30 minute drive from the church’s front door. The camp’s website is www.nlom.org. Check out their website for more information.

Women’s Bible Study will resume online Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. beginning April 29.

All women from the Ceresco area are welcome to join a “Women of the Word” (W.O.W.) Bible study called “The Shelter” by Sheila Walsh.  Click this link to learn more about this Bible series https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qj-dFkhMWMg

Teens Encounter Christ

Teens Encounter Christ (T.E.C) is a two and a half-day retreat for youth and young adults (grades 10 through college freshmen).  These weekend retreats are held in Sioux City, Iowa and Yankton, South Dakota and are currently postponed until the COVID-19 situation subsides.

Annual Youth “Lock-In” Coming

Another ‘lock in’ will be happening when the COVID-19 situation subsides. The ‘lock-in’ theme this year is ‘Ghostbusters’ – living a life free of fear and full of courage.  All Ceresco area teens will be welcome and there is no cost to attend.
